For the past 13 years he had woken up each morning, showered, dressed and sat at his desk facing the overhang of the cliff upon which he was perched an watched the outside world go by him, each day further regretting his choices as he dwelt inside of the house.

He wrote on occasion both regular columns and letters to the editor to keep himself busy though the time allotted was never fully filled and the rest remained starring out the windows.

It was upon the eve of his 74th birthday however when things changed, when he finally broke free and decided that he could remove himself from this place of understated being and progress to the next level of idealistic living.
